Linda Vavricka

Linda Vavricka’s (R-East Islip) work for former Senators Lee Zeldin (R-Shirley), Tom Croci (R-Sayville), Phil Boyle (R-Bay Shore), and current Senator Alexis Weik (R-Sayville) equip her with working knowledge of government and constituent services.

Vavricka’s pragmatic views on the role of Town Clerk, as well as her priorities of digitizing records, increasing accessibility, and consulting with the Town’s Information Technology team to safeguard against potential cyber threats are exactly what the town needs in a Clerk.

Vavricka’s opponent, Sarah Michele Smith (D-Ronkonkoma), seems more intent on elevating her progressive political profile than running a grassroots campaign in a local election. Since Town Clerk races are apolitical, it’s odd that she chooses to run her campaign with national overtones based on frail comparisons to highly-sensationalized cases that are ultimately few and far between. We also believe her relatively young age precludes her from having the comprehensive knowledge required to run the “cover of the book” in town government.

The Messenger endorses Linda Vavricka for Islip Town Clerk.
