After his 2019 victory made him as the first Republican elected to represent the 8th District since 1984, Suffolk County Legislator Anthony Piccirillo (R-Holtsville) has been a staunch advocate for taxpayers, public safety, and transparent government.

With a distinct brand of retail politics, Piccirillo is constantly observed in the public setting, while also delivering common-sense votes and legislation for Suffolk County. His cooperation with both public and private entities gives him a comprehensive view of municipal work, as well as an understanding that small business is the backbone of Suffolk.

With his chairmanship of the Government Operations, Personnel, Information Technology & Diversity Committee, the Environment, Parks & Agriculture Committee, and vice chairmanship of the Veterans and Consumer Affairs Committee,  Piccirillo has a wide breadth of knowledge pertaining to protecting our Veterans, preserving our environment and protecting our suburban culture. Additionally, his chairmanship of the Investigation Committee into the 2022 county-wide cyber attack has put him on the spotlight as a fierce fighter for government transparency and an advocate for renewed technology safety and procedures.
