Chocolate Works in Plainview knows that people who wish to “keep it simple” are not speaking for their sweet tooth. We want flavor, we want options, and we want experience; Chocolate Works heard, and they certainly delivered.
Upon entering their store on South Oyster Bay Road, you are immediately immersed in a candy experience fit for a golden ticket holder. While there are no Willy Wonka characters, there is an array of chocolate delectables in vibrant showcases, an assortment of non-chocolate candy options and beautiful platters of sweet treats that make you feel like you’re in Wonkaland nonetheless.
From white chocolate, to milk chocolate, to dark chocolate – to vegan chocolate, to breakable chocolate, to chocolate pretzels and chocolate graham crackers – there is no chocolate task that Chocolate Works can’t handle. And, of course, you can place a specialty order.
Aside from their generous selection of custom truffles and Rice Krispie Treats, there is a cake-pop station where I was lucky enough to watch their friendly employee, Jordan, make such fresh, professional looking cake pops.
I bet you think I’m almost done, don’t you? Well, on the contrary, I’ve just begun. Chocolate Works added such a creative spin to their ordinary candy stores, something 2023 has been waiting for: workshops, parties and dropoff events, oh my!
If you visit their website, or even call the store, Chocolate Works offers many different workshops to help you build your sweet creations. Whether it be chocolate molding, dipping or decorating, each event leaves you with a custom sweet treat that you may never have dreamed that you could create. These workshops are also available to select camps, seniors or even school trips.
Yes, this chocolate haven is available for children’s birthday parties and comes theme–ready, with a projector and all. They have adult parties too. There is a spacious lower level that allows you to hold many different events – birthday parties, team building workshops, networking events, paint nights, or even something in the ballpark of a jewelry party.
What more, you ask? Chocolate Works also sports a same-day liquor license.
Saving the best for last… its dropoff events. For all you busy moms out there, looking to get a mani/pedi in peace, or even to get some shopping done, Chocolate Works has come up with a genius idea. For an hour and a half, Chocolate Works will entertain your children with a special sweet craft, so that Mom can have some alone time nearby. Does it get any better than that?
Chocolate Works is a dedicated supporter of PinkTie.org. PinkTie is a community-led charity that tackles tough social and economic problems with urgency and a long-term approach to create access to opportunities for people in under-served communities in New York State, as stated on their website.
To me, the idea that this establishment donates 5% of their proceeds to PinkTie speaks volumes on their mission to give back to their community.
You can arrange for Chocolate Works to come to you and set up a treat table to serve you and your guests on your special occasion, but with all they have to offer in-store, I think a trip there is a must!
