Ronkonkoma Middle School Football Closes with an Undefeated Season

-

On Wednesday, November 2, Ronkonkoma Middle School Football beat Patchogue-Medford Black to complete an undefeated season. The score was 44-6.

The team, led by Coach Joseph Doscher and Coach Austin Pinto, is the middle school’s first undefeated team since 2009. They are the fourth undefeated team in the school’s history. Throughout the season, they would go on to face reputable teams such as Samoset (Sachem), Paca (William Floyd), Seneca Middle School (Sachem), Patchogue-Medford Red and Sagamore Middle School (Sachem) before finishing off with Patchogue-Medford Black.

“Coach Joe is old school, tough and fair,” said Evelyn Mastriano, whose son, Nick (#85), plays on the team. “He pushes the boys to their limits but has built incredible relationships with his players. Ronkonkoma Middle School’s undefeated record is a statement of their dedication, hard work and also their unity. The community is very proud of our boys and the coaching staff.”

The Connetquot Football Association took to Twitter to commend their players.

“Congratulations to Ronkonkoma Middle School Football on a tremendous season! These boys had some season and were very impressive to watch as they went Undefeated for the first time in quite a few years. Coach Doscher and Coach Pinto had these boys focused! #TBirdNation #TheFuture”

Other parents, who are inspired by the boys’ tenacity, are anxious to see what the future holds.

“Watching this group of boys only tells us that this community is in for something really special come their High School days together,” said mom Michelle Maugeri, whose twin boys Kingston (#81) and Caleb (#9) are also players on the team.

The team is looking forward to the hanging of their banner in the school’s gym. The official undefeated 2022 season banner will hang with the years 1983, 1990 and 2009.

Congratulations boys!
