With a wet April in the forecast, we hate to see our kids cooped up inside again right after winter. A change of scenery can help stimulate them, and of course, it is important to break up the day for us as well. ‘Sippy Cups Café’ of Seaford offers an ideal solution for a laid-back, fun-filled day outside of the house.
Located on Merrick Road, just a few lights off of 135 South, Sippy Cups Café sits in a quaint, store-front setting – secretly offering the little one’s exuberant amounts of play options in a clean, safe, and secure play area. Even more enticing, the café offers parents the ability to enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack while the kids play.
Owner Danielle Bracco came up with the idea for Sippy Cups Café after visiting indoor play areas with her own children.
“I just felt like there was something lacking,” Bracco said. “Either the coffee wasn’t good, or just plain Keurig. It just wasn’t what I expected it to be.”
From there, Bracco left her New York City career in advertising to chase her dream, and, in November of 2017, she opened her ideal play area. Offering specialty, fresh brewed coffee, and espresso, Bracco also offers muffins and additional snacks, along with pizza and chicken nuggets for the kids.
Geared towards children ages 6 and under, the play area includes – but is not limited to – two slides, tunnels to climb through, a Lego station, a train track station, a marketplace, a kitchen, rocking horses, books, and puzzles.
“It’s my first time here and it is the perfect day out. I met a good friend of mine here and our daughters had time to play while we had time to finally catch up. The kids loved it and I love the atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back,” said Nicole Weyant, of Sayville.
Weyant advised that she made her reservation online, now required due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This way, capacity can be more easily controlled, and designated time-slots ensure that you will get the most out of your visit.
For all that will undoubtedly fall in love with this café, there is no need to worry about potentially putting a beautiful day to waste. To accommodate nicer weather, there is an outdoor play area in the back of the premises.
“I set up chairs and umbrellas for the parents along with water tables, sprinkler pads and other water activities for the kids,” said Bracco.
Its outside component also comes equipped with play cars and a playhouse.
Along with hosting special events, one most recently being a visit from Disney’s Encanto characters, The Sippy Cups Café offers affordable birthday party packages in which the party is granted sole access to its many amenities.
