Local GOP Protests Ted Cruz’s Bond Endorsement

-

Michelle Bond teamed up with Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday night at the Smithtown Elks Lodge for the Stand for New York PAC.

Bond seeks Senators’ approval from other states, but where is her New York, let alone Long Island support?

“When I look around Washington D.C. and see all these career politicians, wiggling around Washington, looking to climb the ladder, while the country that they are supposed to be running is just going off the rails, I think it’s very, very upsetting,” Bond said during her speech. “These people think that earning it means going to D.C. cocktail parties and calling donors.”

She is not far behind these so-called career politicians she looks down upon. Her esteemed boyfriend, Ryan Salame, and family, including big-named Democrats, have donated millions to her campaign.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Bond spoke for just over 7 minutes before handing the mic over to Ted Cruz, regurgitating the same conservative slogan without stating any legitimate plans she has for New York’s First Congressional District (NY-01). She merely criticized and noted all the current issues the U.S is facing.

“I will be a pro-life, pro-family,” said Bond, then took a 3-second pause to look down and read from her scripted speech, “pro-America, America-first Conservative.”

She will be, or she already is? One thing’s for sure: You can’t script your values.

After about 20 minutes of Ted Cruz’s speech, the event ended with a tight hug and kiss between Bond and Cruz.

Time and time again, Ted Cruz pushes for local involvement in local government, yet Cruz up and left Texas to support a Democrat masquerading as a Republican in New York. What does Cruz know about NY-01?

Many comments on the Long Island Loud Majority Facebook expressed they were not in favor of Cruz’s attendance. One wrote, “Ted Cruz went on vacation while his state was in trouble. He’s a career politician.”

Another commenter wrote, “if she [were] a team player and looking to help N.Y., she’d have Joe Pinion with her or Zeldin or other candidates to help the state of N.Y. – not Texas!”

The Smithtown Young Republicans organized a protest at Bond and Cruz’s event. Just over 20 Y.R. members and 3 elected officials were in attendance.

“Bond can’t buy us,” said Anthony Cacciato, Smithtown Young Republican member.

“Vote for a Friar,” said County Comptroller John Kennedy, in reference to Nick LaLota’s former school, St. Anthony’s.

Bond isn’t fooling anybody. Her lies are transparent, between receiving large donations from her boyfriend’s Democrat buddies, seeking approval from out-of-state Senators, and needing to depend on a script to get her conservative message out.

“Democrat Michelle Bond is so out of touch she has to bring in an out-of-state guy who voted against 9/11 first responders to try and save her. She’s a Maryland Democrat with no legitimate Suffolk County support,” said Thomas Sheedy, 24, who attended the protest. “She has no connection to Long Island. Long Islanders are going to elect a real conservative and real Long Islander in Nick LaLota on August 23.”
