A new Ben & Jerry’s has opened at Station Yards in Ronkonkoma, adding another iconic destination to the growing development.
The location offers the perfect stop for residents and commuters looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. While Ben & Jerry’s is a nationally recognized brand with more than 570 locations across the country, it also holds meaningful ties to Long Island.
“Station Yards immediately felt like the right home for our Ben & Jerry’s,” said Nisha Sachdeva, owner of Ben & Jerry’s Ronkonkoma. “We love being part of downtown communities, and Station Yards has such an incredible energy with its mix of residents, events, and local
businesses. Bringing a brand that is fun, welcoming, and loved by all ages into this space feels like the perfect fit.”
The founders of the company, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, grew up right here in Merrick before opening their first ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vermont. Now, Ben & Jerry’s has become everyone’s “go-to” when it comes to their ice cream.
This location marks the fourth Ben & Jerry’s storefront to open on Long Island and is run and operated by a local family. Customers can expect dozens of flavors to choose from, ranging from unique crowd favorites like Phish Food and Chunky Monkey to classic options such as Americone Dream, offering something for every taste.
TRITEC Real Estate Company, the developers of Station Yards, are just as thrilled to add this addition as the community is.
“Ben & Jerry’s is one of those brands that instantly brings people together,” said Jimmy Coughlan, Executive Vice President and Partner at TRITEC Real Estate Company. “It has strong Long Island roots, global recognition, and an appeal that spans generations. We’re excited to welcome Ben & Jerry’s to Station Yards and to see their shop become a place where families, residents, and visitors can create simple, joyful moments.”
The new shop adds to Station Yards’ continued growth, giving both commuters and local residents another reason to stop and spend time in the area. With roughly 15,000 riders passing through the Ronkonkoma LIRR station on a typical weekday, the location is well-positioned to serve commuters looking for a sweet treat before or after their train ride.
Station Yards is quickly becoming a hub for Long Island residents, with plans for a total of 1,450 apartments, 195,000 square feet of retail space, and 360,000 square feet of office space. The development is expected to create thousands of jobs and expand housing options at the busiest train station in Suffolk County.
Located at 3 Hawkins Ave., Unit #1104, in Ronkonkoma, the new Ben & Jerry’s is now open and welcoming customers at Station Yards. As the development continues to grow, the shop is expected to become a popular stop for commuters, families, and visitors alike, offering a sweet addition to one of Suffolk County’s busiest and most vibrant transit hubs.
