Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr. recently recognized two local nonprofits—Promise of Hope and Supplies for Success—for their ongoing contributions to families and students across Suffolk County. The recognition was part of the Sheriff Toulon Community Leadership Award program, which highlights organizations demonstrating consistent service to vulnerable residents.
Promise of Hope, a support-focused nonprofit, provides essential resources and encouragement to individuals and families facing hardship. The organization offers clothing, basic necessities, and outreach support designed to help households navigate periods of instability.
Supplies for Success focuses on preparing students for the school year by distributing backpacks and essential school materials to children in need. The program ensures local students begin the school year equipped to participate fully in the classroom, without the financial barriers that often strain working families.
Representatives from both organizations joined Sheriff Toulon and members of the Sheriff’s Office for a presentation of certificates and a display of the backpack donations and supplies distributed through the programs.
Sheriff Toulon noted his appreciation for both nonprofits’ continued partnership with county agencies and their commitment to improving outcomes for families. The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to nominate additional community leaders and organizations for future recognition under the Sheriff Toulon Community Leadership Award initiative.
