St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson marked a significant milestone with the ribbon cutting ceremony for its newly expanded Emergency Room (ER) this past week. The event was attended by a host of elected officials, representatives of local government, hospital staff, and community members, all gathered to celebrate the completion of a project that promises to enhance healthcare services for the region.

In attendance also was Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy (R-Nesconset), Brookhaven Town Councilman Johnathan Kornreich (D-Stony Brook), Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset), Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio (R-Baiting Hollow), and Brookhaven Town Councilman Michael Loguercio (R-Ridge). Port Jefferson Mayor Lauren Sheprow also helped cut the ribbon along with representatives for Suffolk County Legislators Nick Caracappa (C-Selden) and Chad Lennon (C-Rocky Point).
