Suffolk County Legislature of the Fourth District, Nick Caracappa.

While many elected officials are tenacious and ever-present among their constituents, Legislator Nick Caracappa (C-Selden) clearly stands out. With more than thirty years with the Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA), and many additional years as a community leader, Caracappa has a wealth of knowledge on the many issues facing Suffolk County. He is by far the fiercest advocate for practical wastewater solutions in Suffolk, owing to his experience with the SCWA, and recently took The Messenger on a deep-dive into the problems with the Albany-proposed sewer bill that has dominated airwaves since July.

Caracappa’s opponent, Tim Hall (D), is not actively campaigning. Even if Caracappa did have an active opponent, it would be difficult for him or her to match his tenacity and ubiquitousness within his community.

With that, it’s no contest: The Messenger endorses Legislator Nick Caracappa for Suffolk County Legislature, District Four.

The Messenger’s forecast for this race: Safe Republican.
