No stranger to county government and certainly no stranger to a wide variety of issues, Legislator Leslie Kennedy (R-Nesconset) is running to continue her work in public service.

A Registered Nurse of thirty years, a mother of four, and a legislative aide to her husband, then-Legislator, now-County Comptroller John Kennedy (R-Nesconset), Kennedy has the blend of real-world and governmental experience to continue accurately representing the residents of Smithtown and Brookhaven. The Twelfth District, while mostly contained in Smithtown, does contain parts of Centereach, Lake Grove, and Lake Ronkonkoma.

Kennedy’s long and determined work on remediating the stream beds of the Nissequogue River, being a fiscal watchdog on behalf of the taxpayer, constant advocacy for fiscal responsibility, and her commitment to making Suffolk County a better place to live, instead of – as she puts it – moving to Florida, is what makes her deserving of continuing to represent the Twelfth District.

The Messenger endorses Legislator Leslie Kennedy for Suffolk County Legislature, District Twelve.

The Messenger’s forecast for this race: Safe Republican.
