Ronkonkoma Welcomes Leon Early Childhood Center!

-

Parents all over central Long Island – this one’s for you!

We welcome one of the newest additions to the area, the Leon Early Childhood Center. While it may be the best-kept secret, currently – it won’t be for long.

Located at 25 Church Street in Ronkonkoma, the Leon Early Childhood Center (LECC) offers four competitive year-round programs: Discovery Preschool (2-3 years old), Preschool (3-4 years old), Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 years old) and an after-school program (grades 1, 2, and 3). Its Summer Program includes drama, science, language, gym, and educational trips, while its after-school program includes clubs like chess, dance, and drama.

Each classroom, not only meticulously kept, has been designed to cultivate young minds by providing all the tools necessary for students to establish a strong educational foundation. In addition to a program of rigorous-but-doable academic activities, this school’s setting is
designed for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) – with microscopes incorporated. While classrooms are also equipped with reading corners and computer stations, French, Spanish, and sign language is also part of the offered curriculum.

“We want our children to explore their curiosity and talents, feel empowered to meet current and future challenges, develop emotional awareness and intrinsic skills for personal growth,” said Sandy Leon-Hoitsma, Owner and Director of the Leon Early Childhood Center. “Our vision is to prepare our students for a rapidly changing world by instilling in them critical thinking skills to
make logical decisions that will have a positive impact on their future.”

Mrs. Hoitsma opened the Leon Early Childhood Center to provide exceptional academic and social needs. Her center celebrates and encourages diversity, thriving in its aim to celebrate community and the much-needed sense of belonging.

“I love to see the look on the children’s faces as they show their parents what they have learned at the end of the day,” said Joyce Purcell, Assistant Director. She added, “We have a great team of teachers who are very caring and nurturing for our children and work with all their
individual needs. We look forward to the Ronkonkoma community becoming a big part of our school!”

The Leon Early Childhood Center offers extremely affordable and flexible childcare Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This accommodates the working parent incredibly so.

Additionally, the center is also open on Saturday mornings for those interested in facility tours. Be sure to stop in on Saturday, June 25 for the official grand meet and greet. Friends and family are welcome to explore the grounds from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. while enjoying music,
games, raffles and giveaways, face-painting, treats, and much more!
