Commack School District

Budget (PASSED 1,094-331): $234,638,883, a 0.69% increase from last year that carries a 2.03% tax hike. Includes a 1.5% salary increase for teachers with a step increase that has yet to be determined.

Proposition Two (PASSED 1,116-251): Allows school board members to be elected at-large. Top vote-receivers will be elected to the board rather than being elected by individual seats.

BoE Winners: Dr. William Hender* was re-elected unopposed. John Murray was unopposed for an open seat.

Communities: Commack, parts of Dix Hills, Smithtown hamlet, and East Northport.

Hauppauge UFSD

Budget (PASSED 431-235): $142,359,029, up 2.87% from last year that carries a 3.72% tax levy increase, within the cap. 2% step increase for teachers.

Proposition Two (PASSED 442-216): Establishes a new Capital Reserve fund for up to $20 million for renovations, asbestos treatment, and tech upgrades.

Proposition Three (PASSED 481-179): Withdraws up to $740,485 from an Reserve II for HVAC repairs, roof replacement, and other repairs.

Proposition Four (PASSED 448-209): Spends up to $5,255,448 from Reserve I to renovate bathrooms and locker rooms at the high school gym.

BoE Winners: Dr. Lawrence Crafa* (477) and James Kiley* (465) were re-elected unopposed.

Communities: Most of Hauppauge, parts of Smithtown hamlet and Village of Islandia.

Kings Park CSD

Budget (PASSED 744-433): $113,341,957, a 3.19% increase with a 2.99% tax levy hike. Includes 3.35% raises for teachers. Reduces 4.7 Full Time Equivalency (FTE) teachers.

BoE Winners: Gerard Mullaney (pictured right) defeated Josh Cedeno for an open seat

Communities: Fort Salonga, San Remo, most of Kings Park, parts of Smithtown hamlet.

Sachem CSD

Budget (PASSED 1,633-824): $387,971,218, a 1.83% increase with a 2.10% tax levy hike. Includes a 2% raise for teachers.

Proposition Two (PASSED 1,375-1,219): Approves $45,000 for the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society’s upkeep of its museum on Hawkins Avenue and the Fitz-Greene Hallock Homestead on Pond Road and their continuation of student programs.

BoE Winners: Vice President Rob Scavo* and Matt Baumann* were re-elected, while Paul Sapienza was elected to the open seat of Stephanie Volpe, who did not run for re-election.

Communities: Holbrook, Holtsville, Farmingville, parts of Lake Grove, Lake Ronkonkoma, Ronkonkoma, Nesconset, Bohemia, and Bayport.

Smithtown CSD

Budget (PASSED 1,515-680): $300,450,474, a 1.85% increase with an equal tax levy hike. Includes actual teachers’ salary increases of 3.5% with a 1.5% contract increase and a 2% step increase. Three teaching positions will be reduced through attrition.

BoE Winners: Matt Gribbin (pictured left)* (1,628) was re-elected to a fourth term. Brandon Solomon (pictured right)* (1,613) won a full, three-year term after winning a special election last year. Both ran unopposed. One-term Trustee Kevin Craine did not run for re-election. His seat was won by Tom Minnigan (pictured below, left) (1,633), also unopposed.

Communities: Nissequogue, Village of the Branch, parts of Hauppauge, Lake Ronkonkoma, Smithtown hamlet, most of Head of the Harbor, Kings Park, Nesconset, St. James.

Three Village CSD

Budget (FAILED 2,051-2,340): $244,980,092, a 2.87% increase with a 4.54% tax levy hike. Would have included a 1% contractual increase for teachers with a 1.9% step increase, a reduction of 18 teachers who are retiring and will not be replaced.

Proposition Two (FAILED 1,376-3,007): This would have authorized $500,000 for the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook.

BoE Winners: Vice President Karen Roughley* (2,771) and Dr. Jeffrey Kerman* (2,699) were re-elected unopposed. Kerri Golini (2,706) was unchallenged for the open seat left by Vincent Vizzo.

Communities: Parts of St. James and Head of the Harbor.
