Suffolk GOP leaders were quick to condemn a campaign email sent from Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini (D) on Friday, August 6.

The email provides an update from a Newsday article on the tragic Thomas Valva case. Former NYPD Officer Michael Valva, Thomas’ father, and his fiancé are charged with child abuse and killing Thomas Valva.

Thomas, who had learning disabilities, was found in his father’s center Moriches home with hypothermia after prosecutors allege he was made to sleep in the garage.

The outrage stems from two ‘buttons’ on the bottom of the email labeled “Get Involved” and “Contribute.”

“Exactly what circle of hell is reserved for the kind of man that would try to fundraise and personally benefit from the death of an abused child. I never want to find out – but Tim Sini will,” said Suffolk County GOP Chairman Jesse Garcia in a statement released via social media.

“Disgust is not a strong enough word to describe how wrong this is.”

One Smithtown resident was left speechless after hearing about the email. The resident stated that “there is a time and place for that, but not here.”

In 2016, Sini was confirmed by the Suffolk County Legislature as a Police Commissioner. During his hearings, some legislators were skeptical that Sini would stay for the duration of his appointment.

In 2017, Sini ran for District Attorney after the scandal marred Democrat Thomas Spota resigned from the position amidst a federal indictment.

A member of the Suffolk County Democratic committee could not be reached at the time of publication.
