Soft opening back in October, Aspects Eyecare is hosting a grand opening on December 2 to officially usher in the new establishment.
Conveniently central-located in Hauppauge on 812 Wheeler Road in Suite 106, next to Vallarta Mexican Grill and nearby Moloney’s Funeral Home, Aspects is ready to be your eye care provider.
“I have worked with some great surgeons in the care of our patients- cataract, pediatric and retinal eye surgeons,” said Irina Schawaroch, optometrist and proprietor.
Schawaroch graduated in 2012 from the SUNY College of Optometry and received her undergraduate degree from Adelphi.
Now she plans on combining her years of experience in the industry with some of the “most up-to-date equipment” in the industry. Currently, her facility is capable of handling routine visits as well as making more complex diagnoses, such as for diabetes and glaucoma.
“I know a lot of people tell me they are tired of sitting at these big group ophthalmology practices just to be told everything is ok after a brief 7 minutes with their doctor,” she stated. “I can help with some eye emergencies, the age-old ‘pink eyes’ as well as the annual, ‘it is time for some stronger glasses.’”
They also sell glasses on-site and accept most insurances.
Optometry is a growing field, with most sources seeing a 10% increase in optometrists by 2030. Experts blame computer and phone screen usage for the phenomenon, placing more strain on eyes than ever before.
Schawaroch is optimistic that her efforts to provide comprehensive and affordable eyecare to the community she set up shop in will be successful.
