Bond Has Yet to Establish One on the Campaign Trail

-

The Washington D.C. Insider and cryptocurrency lobbyist is off to a rocky start.

When Michelle Bond fled DC this June, she rented an apartment in Port Jefferson in an effort to convince Suffolk County voters that she is a real Long Islander. Per sources, she registered to vote in Suffolk County for the first time on June 1. That same week, she launched her run for New York’s 1st Congressional District.

“You can’t deceive Long Island voters so easily,” said Suffolk County Republican Chairman Jesse Garcia. “Michelle Bond is an out-of-touch Washington D.C. insider and cryptocurrency lobbyist who is out of touch with Long Island families and has few ties to the district – and it shows.”

The launch of her campaign website was suspect as well, prominently featuring an image of a West Islip community – nowhere near the 1st Congressional District. NY-1’s south shore doesn’t start until Southampton, thirty-five miles to the east of West Islip.

Garcia considers even entertaining Bond as qualified for her desired post a non-starter, instead highlighting who he believes should win out in the 1st Congressional District.

“Navy Veteran Nick LaLota has been a dedicated public servant in Suffolk County for years and will work hard to tackle inflation, expand American energy production to lower the price of gas, and empower our law enforcement to protect our communities from an epidemic of gang violence.”
