Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs Police Benevolent Association welcomes thirty new Deputy Sheriff recruits to their ranks. Two separate Police Academy classes were approved for hiring, and they began their training only two weeks apart. Due to the significant increase in retirements over the last year, the ranks of Deputies had become dangerously low.
Deputy Sheriffs PBA President John Becker stated, “We welcome our new deputies and salute them for answering the call to public service during these difficult times in law enforcement. They will face a much higher level of scrutiny than ever before and find themselves under constant attack on both a state and national level.”
