Suffolk County Police received a phone call reporting an active shooter at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove today.
“The call was placed around midafternoon,” a source within the police department told The Messenger. “A frantic report was made where people were claiming that there was a man with a gun inside the Smith Haven Mall.”
Suffolk officers have reported to the scene and are searching the premises. It is believed the area has been cleared.
No victims or suspects have been confirmed at this time.
